Have you bought a new wood fire, had it installed and it’s ready to go, but you don’t know if there’s something you need to do to get it ready?

We’re here to help.

Matt and Jayden recently installed a new Pacific Energy Neo 2.5 wood fire in our Lucknow store and Matt has some great advice on how to set and cure the new heater.

Here are some tips:

·       Use a qualified reputable installer for the heater and flue.

·       Set a new fire in the heater and burn it till the fire is roaring and red hot, then let the fire go out and the heater completely cool.

·       Repeat the steps to start the fire, get it red hot then let it cool, a total of 3 times.

·       If you smell an odd odour during these fire on/off session it is just the paint on the heater curing and that will disappear after a couple of burns. The bricks inside the heater also set during this process, with any residual moisture being burned out.

You can check out the video Matt and Jayden made on how to cure and set your new wood fire heater here.
